Lead UX Designer (6-month contract)
User experience and interactive designer focused on user centered design principles responsible for conceiving and conducting user and competitive research, interviews and surveys, and translating these insights into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes.
This role will have the opportunity to design the interfaces customer-facing applications and iterate upon them to ensure the best user experience possible.
As a lead, senior digital designer, you’re proud of identifying opportunities to improve the final user experience, the interaction design, and the accessibility of our products, by devising elegant solutions that deliver measurable results.
Able to take a user-centred design approach to rapidly test and iterate your designs.
We use lots of paper, conduct surveys, and test our prototypes.
You are concerned about the accessibility of the final UIs. Colour contrasts, semantic mark-up, keyboard navigation, screen-readers, performance.
Facilitate stakeholders’ product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and designing mock-ups of new user interfaces.
Make strategic design decisions related to both existing and new functionalities, in order to ensure both intuitive and delightful experiences.
Design user journeys, wireframes, and mock-ups optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces using a mobile-first approach.
Experience in the end-to-end UX/IxD/UI design, including:
Run lean UX and Agile processes;
Facilitating requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, workshops (affinity mapping, user journeys, lean UX workshops, collaborative design, etc.);
Creation of customer journeys, IAs, flow-charts;
Hi-visual fidelity, adaptive Axure prototypes (UI design following our digital style guides);
In-house/third party user testing, reviewing results, prioritising corrective actions;
Stakeholder walk-throughs and presentations.
You will have +5 years of professional UX design experience. Complete digital environments, and complex solutions for e-commerce/online purchase.
Empathy for the final user: emotional states, needs, wants, frustrations.
You are interested in understanding why people do what they do (behavioural psychology).
Expertise in Axure RP: multi-breakpoint adaptive prototypes, usage of masters, styles, and conditional behaviours (logics and variables).
Mobile-first design principles; adaptive/responsive grid systems.
Knowledge of modern UX design patterns (aware of, and against the usage of dark-patterns). As a not-for-profit, we design to truly improve our members’ experience.
A solid grasp of user-centred design, testing methodologies, usability and accessibility (colour contrasts, legibility, scannability, hierarchy, post-implementation reviews, etc.).
Ability to quickly iterate your designs and solutions.
An appreciation for clear typography, meaningful imagery, and sound layouts.
You see problems as opportunities.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions.
Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge, and learn from one other.
Be open to soliciting–but also receiving–feedback and constructive criticism.
You don’t take feedback personally, but as an opportunity to learn and to design better products.
Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
Articulate and skilled communicator who likes facilitating workshops and presenting.
You’re outgoing and approachable. You love interacting with others.
A portfolio of the recent work you’re proud of. We are looking for your design process, clear interaction design, and responsive layouts.
Attention to detail.
